Wherever possible Makers Place looks to the principles of theCircular Economy. We do this with the intention of leading our members out of linear ways of making.

Our electricity is provided by Diamond Energy – an Australian supplier of 100% renewable electricity.

Makers Place has a major focus on Digital Fabrication. We provide access to desktop 3D Printers and in the near future with our fundraising efforts, we will acquire a CNC router and laser cutter. To make a donation please contact us.

We highly regard new and emerging technologies as change making trends, but we hold on to beliefs that the value of traditional tools should never be lost. This is why we have a collection of both new and traditional tools.

April 2016 – present

Continuing our collaboration with creative space COMMUNE, we had the opportunity to move into a spacious Waterloo warehouse where Makers Place has making freedom over 75sqm of space. This light-filled new space is perfect for making or just dropping in for a chat with other members.

August 2015 – April 2016

In August 2015 , Makers Place moved in with COMMUNE, a creative co-sharing space sharing our ethos of creating new opportunities for passionate people. This has allowed us to reach new communities through collaboration and keep the space alive. This was an great step for us and promises an exciting future.

September 2014 to August 2015

In August 2014 ,Three Farm became a successful applicant of the Renew Leichhardt scheme implemented by Leichhardt council and Renew Australia. We launched in September 2014 and since then have been using this unique opportunity to prototype the Makers Place concept. We have been co-creating and receiving feedback from community members. We are using the lessons learnt from our experience to create a range of open source resources. Our model adopts a grassroots approach, as we believe that the success of each and every Makers Place will come down to its members’ wants & needs.

I am interested in IoT, robot, figures & leadership. Also, I have spent almost every day of the past 15 years making robots or electronic inventions or computer programs.
